A SPECIAL PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT
FOR ALL MEMBER AGENCIES
As your partner in service, the Atlanta Community ToolBank continuously strives to evaluate our program design and effectiveness. This philosophy has enabled us to grow with you, ensuring the Tool Lending Program remains as efficient and cost effective as possible. Therefore, we worked diligently over the last several months to develop a long term strategic plan to ensure the ToolBank is meeting the needs of our member agencies as they continue to improve the communities they serve.
So, as we welcome a New Year predicted to overflow with energy and civic pride, ToolBank is pleased to announce two new initiatives that are part of our overall strategy to focus on the mission of the Atlanta Community ToolBank.
#1 Our sole focus: YOU!
ToolBank is proud to present our newly formed mission and vision statements, designed to highlight the most important part of tool lending; equipping your volunteers to serve more while enabling you to spend less.
Mission Statement
The Atlanta Community ToolBank stewards an inventory of tools for lending to charitable organizations to increase the impact of their mission-related efforts in the community.
Vision Statement
The Atlanta Community ToolBank strives to be the premier tool lending resource serving all charitable organizations in the Metro Atlanta area.
#2 New No-Fee Consumable Project Supplies:
Many of you may have utilized or noticed a small supply area in our warehouse. Known as Rescue & Reuse, this program has been stocked with new and used sundries available for purchase. We are pleased to announce that after January 15th, we will absorb the Rescue and Reuse program into the Tool Lending Program. We will streamline our materials to include only donated, NEW consumable project supplies, which directly enhance or complement tools in our inventory and that will directly aid you in your projects. And best of all, everything will be FREE for member agencies during tool check-outs.
We believe this positive step forward will help ToolBank and our partners to operate even more efficiently and get more tools in the hands of volunteers ready to improve our city! Here is how it will work:
· Consumable project supplies will only be available to active ToolBank member agencies that have placed a tool order request.
· There will be no fee for the consumable project supplies. Standard nominal tool handling fees will still apply at the time of each tool check-out.
· Consumable project supplies will be available at the time of each member agencies approved tool pick-up.
· Consumable project supplies must be used for the specific service project ToolBank tools were requested for and cannot be used for personal gain. All ToolBank inventory is to be used only to support the charitable work of the member agency.
· Consumable project supply quantities may be limited based on the tool order request of the borrowing agency and product availability. Supplies will be available as they are donated to the ToolBank. However, ToolBank will not be able to guarantee availability of specific supplies at all times.
· Redistribution or selling of consumable project supplies acquired through the ToolBank will be strictly prohibited.
OK, we know you are eager to learn what consumable project supplies will be provided. An exciting announcement will be released in the next few weeks, detailing the official start date, request process and initial inventory list. So, check your inbox for breaking news!
Now, for even more immediate good news! The current supply area known as Rescue & Reuse will only continue to be available for various new and used sundries until January 15, 2009. After this date, surplus sundries ToolBank plans to remove from inventory will be available to active member agencies at no cost, as we will be reorganizing to prepare for the new consumable project supply inventory.
Effective January 18, 2010 through February 12, 2010, member agencies are eligible to schedule an appointment to pick up the surplus inventory at no cost. Please note, quantity limitations will be in effect on many items. Each active member agency will be allowed one visit during this time to access the supply area.
